Mock Draft 2023

  1. QB Bryce Young – Panthers

The Panthers traded up to get a quarterback and they are getting the best one in the draft. Lock it in.

  1. DE Tyree Wilson – Texans

Most pundits are saying the Texans are not going with a quarterback at two. If they do pass, it would be for a freak athletic defensive player like Tyree Wilson. Also new head coach DeMeco Ryans is going to want his version of Nick Bosa.

  1. QB Anthony Richardson – Falcons (Trade with Cardinals)

The Cardinals will probably be looking to trade down to garner more draft picks. With this trade, they will get a few extra selections and stay in the top 10. The Falcons meanwhile get their quarterback of the future, and now have a freak athlete at quarterback, tight end (Kyle Pitts), and wide receiver (Drake London).

  1. QB Will Levis – Colts

When there is smoke, there is fire. Right now it is either a massive smoke screen or Will Levis is going to be a Colt, I’m going with the latter.

  1. DT Jalen Carter – Seahawks

The Seahawks love how the draft has shaken out, they get potentially the best player at the fifth pick. With Carter on the board they won’t take too long turning in their selection.

  1. DE Will Anderson – Lions

The Lions take arguably the safest player in the entire draft. With no off field concerns and very good rushing the passer and stopping the run, he will fit in seamlessly. After taking Aiden Hutchenson number two overall last year, the Lions defensive front could be scary.

  1. QB CJ Stroud – Titans (trade with Raiders)

With Stroud still on the board, the Titans trade up to make sure they secure their quarterback of the future. Talent wise, this is a steal at seven.

  1. T Paris Johnson – Cardinals (Trade with Falcons)

The Cardinals trade down and still pick arguably the best offensive tackle in the draft. Even if they stayed at three, Johnson could’ve been the pick.

  1. T Peter Skoronski – Bears

The Cardinals might have gotten the best tackle, but the Bears might get the best overall lineman. With a size and tenacity that could make him an All Pro guard, he still has the quicks to excel as a tackle. Either way the Bears give Justin Fields some help.

  1. DE Nolan Smith – Eagles

The Eagles love adding to their dominant defensive line. After adding defensive tackle Jordan Davis last year, they go with edge rusher Nolan Smith. Smith is freaky athletic, and with Davis’ help will cement a dominant Eagles front for years.

  1. CB Christian Gonzalez – Raiders (trade with Titans)

The Raiders trade down and still get much needed help for their secondary. This is a dream scenario for them as they get to pick the first cornerback. Christian Gonzalez has all the tools to make an immediate impact.

  1. QB Hendon Hooker – Texans

The Texans passed on a quarterback at two, but can’t overlook the position twice in a row. Here they get the underrated Hendon Hooker, who could have easily gone in the top 10 if he didn’t tear his ACL.

  1. WR Jaxon Smith Njigba – Packers

The Packers did not draft an offensive skill position in the first round of the draft the entire time Aaron Rodgers was in Green Bay (outside of drafting his replacement in Jordan Love). Now the first year he is gone, they can’t help but stick it to their old QB with the selection of super shifty slot wide receiver Smith-Njigba.

  1. CB Devon Witherspoon – Patriots

The Patriots get arguably the best cornerback in the draft, and Bill Belicheck loves drafting cornerbacks. If Witherspoon is here, expect the Patriots to pounce.

  1. T Broderick Jones – Jets

The Jets got their quarterback, and now needs to make sure he stays upright. Broderick Jones will go a long way to keeping defenders off Aaron Rodgers, helping shore up one of the Jets few weaknesses.

  1. CB Joey Porter Jr – Commanders

The Commanders might trade up for a quarterback but do seem committed to Sam Howell, at least they are saying all the right things. If they stay here they could really use help in the back end, Joey Porter Jr is more than his father’s name, he can make a serious impact.

  1. T Darnell Wright – Steelers

The Steelers stay patient and take the last elite level tackle in the draft class, one of the best organizations in the NFL makes another crafty move. They also need to protect Kenny Pickett if they want him to have a chance.

  1. RB Bijan Robinson – Ravens (trade with Lions)

The Ravens make the trade of the draft when they jump the Buccaneers and other teams who could be looking to move up for Robinson (Chargers, Bills, Vikings). They are putting together a seriously dangerous offense and this might push them into unstoppable levels, assuming they figure things out with Lamar.

  1. DE Myles Murphy – Buccaneers

The Buccaneers are rebuilding and can use help in many places. Getting stud defensive end Myles Murphy at 19 would be a steal.

  1. DE Lukas Van Ness – Seahawks

The Seahawks drafted Jalen Carter at five and are doubling down on defense. With Carter in the middle, free agency signing Dre’Mont Jones on one side, and Van Ness on the other, Seattle’s defense could take a huge jump in 2023.

  1. WR Zay Flowers – Chargers

The Charger’s weapons around Justin Herbert are getting up there in age. Adding a threat like Zay Flowers could be just what this team needs if they want to get back to the playoffs.

  1. TE Dalton Kincaid – Lions (trade with Ravens)

The Lions trade back and still get the best receiving tight end in the draft, that would be fantastic for the Lions and exactly what happens in this mock draft.

  1. CB Emmanuel Forbes – Vikings

The Vikings need help in the pass defense, getting a young cornerback who can replace Patrick Peterson, while providing more upside than the veteran is important. Forbes is their man.

  1. G O’Cyrus Torrence – Jaguars

Congratulations Jacksonville, you did it! You finally found your franchise quarterback, now keep him healthy. O’Cyrus Torrence is a rock that won’t be pushed around, Trevor Lawrence will love him.

  1. WR Quentin Johnston – Giants

The Giants made the playoffs last year with a way below average receiving core. If they had a star, the offense could make a jump. Quentin Johnston is long and fast, getting him in this offense could do wonders.

  1. TE Michael Mayer – Cowboys

The Cowboys need a tight end, bad, after losing Dalton Schultz. Michael Mayer is an old school big body all around tight end who knows how to use his size. Mike McCarthy is an old school coach who would love that, this makes too much sense.

  1. WR Jordan Addison – Bills

The Bills need a jolt on offense so Josh Allen doesn’t have to do everything all the time. Jordan Addison adds electricity, he is not that big but he is explosive. With Stephon Diggs and Gabe Davis stretching the field, Addison can go to work underneath.

  1. TE Luke Musgrave – Bengals

The Bengals keep making their offense more and more scary. They could also take a running back here but with their absolute lack of options at tight end, taking a playmaker like Musgrave and finding a RB later makes sense.

  1. DT Calijah Kancey – Saints

The Saints get a steal picking up Kancey at the end of round one, while the comparisons to Aaron Darnold are overzealous (to put it nicely), he could definitely turn into a pro bowler.

  1. RB Jahmyr Gibbs – Eagles

The Eagles add a super explosive running back to their team, making their offense frighteningly explosive. No, it’s not Bijan Robinson, but Gibbs is a fantastic consolation prize.

  1. DE Will McDonald IV – Chiefs

All the Chiefs do is make smart, impactful decisions. After losing Frank Clark, they pick up explosive, bendy, Will McDonald who will be a dangerous pairing with George Karlaftis. Also they still have Chris Jones making what could be one of the best defensive fronts.
